Soundwave transforms into a.. helicopter?!?
Transformers the live action movie is coming out next year. 4th July 2007. I loved the original transformer cartoons and have tons of merchandise. Just saw the teaser on the website. Go take a look http://www.transformersmovie.com/. Looks good to me. Not mind-blowing like Spidey (who probably has a larger audience). But as one website said, it's giant robots bashing each other up.. what's not to like? Anyway not all of them will be retaining their original forms. For eg. Soundwave. He used to transform into a cassette player, hence the name. However, since cassettes went the way of the dinosaur, political opposition in Singapore, orange payphones etc etc.. Soundwave now transforms into a helicopter. If he does that, how are Ravage, Rumble, Laserbeak and his misc other cassettes supposed to come out of him? Well they better leave Optimus and Megatron in their original form...

Weird Dreams part 1
Been getting really limited hours of sleep for the past few nights and it has been resulting in me getting really weird dreams. 2 nights ago, I had this dream that me and 4 other people. Should be the people I went to Vietnam with. I remember Paul & Marnchi being in the dream.. James and Sam were probably sitting a few rows behind in the plane.. or maybe Sam was flying the plane.. not too sure..
Anyway was on the plane, and I was by the window. There was an empty seat between me and the next passenger whom I didn't know. The weird thing was the guy suddenly turned out to be a vampire. In fact with the exception of the 5 of us, everyone else was a vampire. And they were going to bite all of us. There was also an announcement made that the plane was heading for Pennslyvania. I remember commenting to the vampire next to me "I always thought that vampires existed in Translyvania" and he replies "It's a common misconception."
Weird Dreams part 2
Last night, dreamt that a few of us were flying to the states. People were me, Vincent, Soon Hock, Weiyang and 2 more people. A rather big size guy and this girl. I remember the dream beginning with me arguing with the girl at the airport about something or other.. well not really arguing.. more of a .. discussion. Then we were running to catch the plane.. Vincent and Soon Hock were in front.. then they disappeared .. and for the rest of the dream, they were now Paul and.. think Daryl.. can't remember. The weird thing about the dream was although we were supposed to be in America.. everyone we met was Asian. In fact, the girl tried speaking to this lady at the American airport in chinese but she didn't understand. Then we all sat down at a cafe, where I realised that I didn't bring any US dollars. I only had 20 singapore dollars. But thankfully I had a credit card. Then the big size guy in the dream changed to another person.. then the dream ended.
This is what a total of 12 hrs of sleep in 2 nights will do to u.

Son of an upside down donkey!!!!
One of my brand new hard disk drives just crashed on me yesterday. And with it all my mp3s, tv shows, video clips, etc etc.. crap even my short stories.. The hard disk is only slightly over 1 month old. You know what are the odds of it failing? Virtually nill!!! Crap.. Hard disk are designed to last for like 2 years without failing.. or at least 1.5 years.. that's why there's a 1.5 year warranty.. %^&*!!!... that's why I didn't bother to back up my files yet.. now I have to find out how to remove the frigging drive (I swear, the casing design is getting more and more user unfriendly..), find out where Seagate's %^&*%-ing service centre is, get a new hard disk.. no way to get the data back.. cause Seagate like all hard disk companies will do data retrieval for a hefty fee of a few dollars per MB of data.. I've got close to 60 GB I think to save.. %^&&#!!!.. hoping that they might be nice and do it for free.. I live in a dream world.
Man what are the odds.. bet the odds of it is like Singapore winning the world cup.. ever..

Stuff to settle
After a highly enjoyable trip, have to come back down to reality and settle stuff. During the week I was gone, my fishes seemed to have taken a bad turn. One of the aros is gravely ill, and vertical.. guessing it'll be dead tomorrow. One of the stingrays is quite skinny.. not sure why also..
Sigh..

The Art of Bargaining/Shopping
I have just gotten back from Vietnam and man am I tired. It's been a whirlwind 6 days. Everyday is packed with stuff to do. I shall highlight 1 portion of the trip in this blog entry.
Shopping and bargaining. I do not like to shop under any circumstance, but the things there are cheap so it's quite tempting, especially since I don't buy new clothes often. Anyway lessons learnt about shopping when it's just 5 guys and no girls. Bargaining/shopping is reminiscent of an elaborate dance/mating ritual with many moves and steps. During the trip, we discovered many gaffes that we made. Below are a few of the highlights:
1) Do not bargain for something when you do not want it. Cause the lady might actually give the price you want and refuse to let you go. And if after leaving the shop, you finally decide you want the said item that you did not want initially, friends will beat you up.
2) Do not bargain upwards. By this I mean, when someone quotes you 240,000, you do not say 400,000... hahaha.. It brings much joy to the shopkeeper but it's just dumb
3) Think about the price before you bargain. Do not fire off a price too quickly, cause once they accept that price, quite hard to reduce..
4) Survey the area first. If the shop is the only place that sells the item, advantage is in her favor.
5) You know that ridiculous statement about how "I have no money and this is all I have, take it or leave it?" Well apparently it works..
6) Do not compare prices to see if you got cheated previously, cause there's a high chance you did.
7) Everytime you return to a shop you tried to bargain previously and failed, you lose bargaining power.
8) You can try to sweet talk the owner's daughters but in the end, they know the game better than you.
And lastly,
9) "Same Same, but different."

One of this year's biggest comic book moments!

This will be my last post for a few days as I will be enjoying life in Vietnam.. ah.. no cares, no worries, leaving all my problems behind.. Too bad it ain't permanent..
As an add-on to peter parker revealing his identity comes this short parody..
SPIDER-MAN: Okay, people, my real name is Peter Parker. I know, I know, it's a real shock.
VULTURE: So you're some guy name Peter Parker. Big deal. I unmasked you weeks ago.
SANDMAN: I once unmasked him, although I didn’t get a good look at his face cause he ran away like a chicken.
INMATES: Hey we unmasked him too, but it was too dark to see.
SCORPION: Oh yeah. I figured out who he was without unmasking him.
VENOM: Don’t make us laugh. On top of taking away our other, you we're told who he was. And you call yourself a private detective? Besides, we figured out Spider-Man was Parker long before any of you.
DOCTOR OCTOPUS: Correction. I had the distinct honor of being the very first to publicly unmask the meddlesome wall-crawler.
CAPTAIN STACY: You call what you did an unmasking? You only thought he was Parker in disguise as Spider-Man and not that they were one and the same. I, on the other hand, used logic and detective work to figure it out.
BEN URICH: All I needed was my journalistic instincts.
DEBRA WHITMAN: Um...no offense, sir. But I figured out Peter was Spider-Man simply by following Peter up some stairs and finding Spider-Man on the roof instead.
HARRY OSBORN: Hey, lady. I figured out who he was simply by watching Spidey fight my dad. And I was even strung out on drugs at the time.
CHAMELEON: That's nothing, I learned who he really was and I was insane.
ROBOT PARENTS: You would have NEVER known hadn't it been for us. Peter told us he was Spider-Man outright.
BLACK CAT: Oh yeah. I was the very first person who he willingly revealed his identity too. Of course, I can’t say I was thrilled when I found out, but...
TIM HARRISON: Sorry, toots. I was first. And all I had to do was ASK him.
BLACK CAT: That’s cause you were dying of cancer you stupid kid.
GWEN STACY: Actually, Peter revealed who he was willingly to me, my dad, Harry, and MJ.
BLACK CAT: Yeah, and from what I heard you cried like a little girl and went bawling to daddy.
GWEN STACY: Shut up, you hussy.
BLACK CAT: Oh that’s rich. Coming from a girl who slept with the father of Peter’s best friend and refused to mention that she gave birth to twins.
SARAH: Hey, don’t you dare ridicule our mom that way.
GABRIEL: Besides. We learned the truth after watching him jump over a wall to escape us. AGENT MARIA HILL: Please. I used a psychic to figure out the truth.
MADAME WEB: Pish posh. I learned it through my own psychic powers before you did.
PROFESSOR X: Actually, that distinct honor belongs to me.
DOCTOR STRANGE: No, Charles. I discovered his identity in the same manner long before you did.
DAREDEVIL: Well, I didn’t need psychic powers. I learned who he was by listening to his heart rythums, voice patterns, and scent.
PUMA: All I needed smell, Hornhead.
WOLVERINE: I’m afraid you’ve come up short in that department, bub.
PUMA: Look who’s talking.
KA-ZAR: I’m afraid that I, Ka-Zar, lord of the Savage Land learned the truth in similar fashion long before then.
AUNT MAY: Goodness. All I did was walk in his room and found his costume lying on the floor.
BEN REILLY: Ha, I was BORN knowing that Peter and Spider-Man was one and the same, because I’m his clone.
KAINE: No, because I came before you did, Reilly!
JACKAL: Well, both of you wouldn’t have known if he hadn’t been for me, who learned the truth from a mere blood sample.
NICK FURY: We at S.H.I.E.L.D. already knew who he was long before you did.
AGENT HILL: We did?
MORLUN: I didn’t need any of that. I learned simply through his totemistic essence.
SHATHRA THE SPIDER-WASP: As did I.
EZEKIEL: What am I, chopped liver?
THE GREAT WEAVER: Which none of you would’ve known had it not been for me.
IRON MAN: Wait a minute, none of you should count. Peter origins were a product of science, not intelligent design.
DOCTOR STRANGE: So you say.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: People, people. Let’s not get so upset. Besides, I figured out who he was...
NICK FURY: Only through accessing our files. As did ALL the Avengers.
BATMAN: I didn't even need computer files.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: What are you doing here? You don't belong in our universe?
BATMAN: Guess you forgot about DC vs. Marvel and JLA vs. Avengers, then.
THE SPECTRE: Which of course were the fault of those two brothers.
SUPERBOY PRIME: *whispering* Don't tell anybody, but it was actually me and one of my retcon punches.
J. JONAH JAMESON: Well, I knew it was Parker all along. That’s why I accepted all those pictures he took of himself. Wanted to help a young man get his feet wet, being the kind soul I am.
JOE ROBERTSON: And I suppose that whole incident with you thinking that your own son was Spider-Man was just act, considering how they were seen together at the same time.
JAMESON: Oh, and I suppose you knew all along, eh smarty pants?
ROBERTSON: Maybe....
GREEN GOBLIN: Oh please. All of those attempts are pathetic compared to what I’ve accomplished. Why, I was the very first person to learn Spider-Man was really Peter Parker. And that’s more than any of you have ever done.
MARY JANE: Sorry, Norman. I was the very first person to ever learn the truth, and I’ve known who he was the very night his Uncle Ben died. So there. *Sticks out tounge*
THE WATCHER: Actually, it was I, the Watcher, who sees all things and all possibilities. I have known that the one you call Spider-Man was Peter Parker long before he ever became Spider-Man.
STAN LEE: Actually, it was me, since I was the one who created Spidey.
STEVE DITKO: No, it was me.
STAN LEE: Steve, let’s not start THAT again.
GOD: Don’t I get a say in this?
BRAIN MICHEAL BENDIS: Good thing they're not talking about the Ultimate universe.

The Significance of Bamboo
On the way home, dad was commenting on how the house at the main road was surrounded by bamboo. Mum then said that bamboo wards off snakes (Anybody know the origin of this one?) Then she also said that chinese have a superstition that planting bamboo brings good fortune cause chinese for bamboo is "shun" also can be smooth flowing etc etc.. Crazy Chinese and our superstitions.. I personally would plant bamboo for just 1 reason and 1 reason only.
Panda bait.

People are telling me that they feel bored. I am not bored at all. In fact I think my plate is too packed. Everytime I have some sort of free time, something crops up that takes away my free time. Anyway am quite happy today, my package which I ordered in March has finally arrived! Yay.. Well to anyone who is feeling bored, you probably need a PS2 or an X-box. You won't go out much, but then you won't be spending much either. Ah.. life is good.
