No more symphony of noise
Finally stopped being lazy and fixed the blog so that visitors won't be hit by a stream of noise from the different video clips.. heh. Anyway not really fixed it. Just made it such that only the last 3 posts appear on the main page. Anyway I caught X-men 3 today. For those that haven't watched it yet and do not wish to be spoilt, I will have all my text in white:
Lots of mutants die/get cured (which if you think about it is pretty much the same thing cause without their powers they aren't mutants. Cyclops is unceremoniously killed off screen because of his off-screen defection to the Superman Returns movie. Magneto, Rogue and Mystique are depowered (although I think the last one was added mainly for eye candy.. ). Prof X "died" only to transfer his mind to a brain dead body. The movie was convoluted. Too many things happening. I would have been content if they just did Dark Phoenix, still have her kill lots of people, rip out Angel's wings (leading to a sequel), threaten to destroy the world so Magneto's gang and prof x's gang have to team up leading to maybe prof x dying and Magneto taking over the school as a good guy.

A familiar face from the past..
While at a comissioning just now for Dotz and Desmond who are graduating and for Sharon who's going to Japan for a mission trip, I saw a face from the past. I used the word saw instead of met because I didn't go over to say hi and said person did not see me. First saw said person when I was finishing my burger. Thankfully I saw first and did a ostrich manouver. After that, as luck would have it, I was sitting 2 rows behind. Was squirming about my chair to ensure that I would not be seen. Isn't this extreme one would ask.. perhaps.. but things didn't end amicably the last time we met.. so I decided that not saying hi would be the more appropriate action. Thankfully we didn't meet.

The problem with local shows
I don't like local shows and I don't understand why they keep on producing them. Few exceptions would be "Makan Places lost and found" and the peranakan cooking/comedy show that used to be on arts central. Local dramas and comedies are just a plain waste of air time.
On dramas:
Just caught a bit of heartlanders just now. You know what's the problem with singaporean productions? They are rojak. They want to be original and yet imitate the west. One of the characters just said that he should be paid "50 big ones".. now I know 50 big ones means 50 grand.. or 50 000 but that's cause I watch way too much tv.. who in singapore talks like that?
And the accents.. oh my.. please decide on how you want the characters to speak. Don't have a mish mash.. that's why the upcoming sitcom "ABC dunno what" seems promising in this area. The character speaks with an american accent cause he's from america. Yeah tcs, you're getting the right idea, in the future, all characters who speak with accents will be assigned to said countries..

To be a successful sitcom in singapore, you must be slapstick and cheesy. If the show is witty and well written, chances are it won't be accepted. Witty just doesn't sell. Singaporean sitcoms are like mini-SNL skits and not deserving of a full 30 min.. heck, even SNL skits have some wit in them.

Unusual Sights
Been seeing this unusual site of .. vandalism? Anyway realised that the 2 traffic lights near St Patrick's has recently been vandalised but in a most unusual way. Both of them have a pair of track shoes dangling from them. The shoes were somehow tied together and tossed upwards until they stuck on it.. Wonder if this trend will spread.. or maybe those shoes got stolen.. or some bullies from the school.. oh the mind wanders..

Wow.. this blog has had 600 posts.. 600 nonsensical rantings (and ravings) by me.. so what should I do to commemorate this special post? Nothing much really..

First blog on the new comp!!
Exams are over yay! Elections are over.. moving along... :D
Anyway using new comp now.. so much fun.. faster, smoother and more storage space.. now need to transfer over my old stuff from the other comp..
Anyway a short rant about something I thought about late last week while just outside.
Remember those all chinese kung fu shows where the people learn the martial arts named after animals.. like crane style, tiger style, snake, monkey etc etc.. cause the styles are supposed to take on the attributes of the animal.. so I was thinking why not cockroach style? Roaches being near indestructible.. if you could learn their style, you would be unstoppable.. this story is also linked to the roach which I found in my shower a few days ago.. I was using the water to push the roach.. but there it was, hanging on for dear life against the rushing water.. its endurance is really something to be marvelled.. therefore "Cockroach Style" fighting

Exams are over.. finally!
Well 2 days ago actually to be more precise... anyhoo, it's been fun. Yesterday was a busy day. Woke up, play around with fish tank, tidied up the room a bit, went out to buy comics and presents, came back, bummed, went out again to see stingray with vincent. Came back and off to dinner at Shangri-la courtesy of Derek and Janis.. heh.. yay.. thanks you guys.. free dinner rocks..
Today got me added sand into the tank, bought the 2 stingrays, did some cutting and sanding and drilling..

Now my gar is worrying me.. he has been eyeing the 2 rays.. or at least lying down on them.. so far hasn't made any aggressive act towards them.. if he does.. I'm selling him..
