Don't get no respect...
Just heard the song "livin la vida loca" on the radio sung by Donkey from Shrek 2. with backup vocals by Puss in Boots. Think that and "She Bangs" by William Hung are the only songs by Ricky Martin that the radio plays nowadays.. bet people don't even know him anymore.. He don't get no respect.. haha..

Mum just told me that "supposedly" with effect from December this year, NS will be reduced to 2 years.. shocking.. haha.. do I hear an echo of moaning from guys who have served already and an echo of rejoicing from those entering next year? haha..

Last Blog before camp
Today I shall rant aboot (heh, some weird accent) fame. Fame is a funny thing. For the most part its intangible. The results are more measurable I guess. But the desire for it spurs people on. Makes people take part in events like Star Search and American Idol and other contests.. all that.. well and good I guess.. but some go for fame thru notoriety. Was thinking of people like Paris Hilton for one. Before the whole video tape scandal, think she was virtually unknown, but after that, she became famous overnight, and now has a reality tv show based on her starting soon..
Where fame once conveyed the idea of glory garnered from victory/success, it can now mean notoriety etc.. we now give fame to people who do things that barely merit the idolisation given to it.
Hmm starting to drift from original point, anyway yeah.. just my 2 cents.

Interesting Scientific Discovery..
Just killed a roach in my toilet with a couple of old uni notes rolled up together. Discovered that the body and the head were twitching even after they were separated from each other.. the head was split nicely but it was still twitching and so was the body.. fascinating insect if it didn't disgust me so..
