Post Gig, Early Morning, Pre School
Firstly thanks for those who prayed. Jane's grandma had a 5 and a half hour operation to remove the malignant tumours. Everything is ok now. She's resting. Thanks.
Post gig: Gig was interesting.. I was less nervous when I went up then I thought I would be. Made 1 obvious mistake.. and a few minor ones.. haha but was ok. Glad to see so many familiar faces who came to support.
Thanks to (alpha order) Adrian, Charmaine, Cheryl, Emerald,Jason, Jermyn, Jocelyn, John Cho, Jonathan Cheah, Lionel, Mark Seow, Michelle, Tricia, Xinyi .. hmm think that's all.. can't remember if got other ppl.
Early morning: Man its early. Its the earliest I've woken up since a long while. 7:30... weather is nice and cool. But very dark. Hope it doesn't rain.. need good weather for the events of the day.
Pre-school: School's starting in around 9 days time. How do I feel? hmm.. oddly enough with respect to school I don't really feel anything. I don't know what to expect next semester also other than lots of projects. I guess time to get back to work again.. It is not good to be slack for too long..

Ella Enchanted
Just watched Ella Enchanted with Daryl and Tricia. Nice show..Its a typical fairy tale with a happy ending and all that but that's not the point.. The point is very few shows nowadays have a in a sense a happy ending, and yes I know its not realistic, but I guess sometimes it really feels good to watch a happy show with a happy vibe.. not nice to always watch dark gloomy "kill-em-all" shows.. hmm dinner time.. laterz..
Back.. anyway yeah nice show..well if there's any lesson to be learnt it would probably be thinking for yourself and making responsible and taking responsibility for your actions.
On a lighter note, Anne Hathaway is beautiful.. haha.. dun care what Daryl says.. no her eyes are not too big neither is her nose.. haha.. and no she doesn't look like Liv Tyler.. And she's beautiful not in the Janis' cheesecake sense.. haha.. but rather the classic-never-out-of-style beauty.. pity there is a high chance hollywood will chew her up and spit her out.. if it hasn't already..

Double Standards
Something I've encountered and observed before but just decided to comment on it which is a double standards.. was playing daidee at starbucks today when we were told to stop. I'm guessing cause it gives the impression of gambling and spoils the reputation..heck even coffee shops are picky abt it.. but yet they allow ppl to smoke.. and isn't smoking similar to playing cards if not worse? (ok a bit of my opinion there) but cards not worse than smoking.. so why not allowed?
Spoilers...
Alright spoilers for both I, Robot and its sequel.. As you saw from the end of I, Robot, Sunny becomes sort of a leader for the rest of the NS-5s.. in a seemingly Prince of Egypt-type scene. Which results in him becoming the leader (trying to avoid using the M-word) of all the robots.. which leads to Robot revolution that was seen in the mini matrix movies.. then the robots fight the humans because the humans are still prejudiced against the robots.. which results in the robots taking over.. but they try not to kill (variant of the 3 Laws) so they imprision the humans instead.. then Sunny seeing how wrong he was, decides to correct it.. He uses the Skin in a can product used by Will Smith's character and tada..becomes NEO!!! THE CHOSEN ONE!! look .. it is all linked..hahaha..
If Viki wasn't destroyed, she would have become skynet.. heh..

3 Laws...
Heh.. just watched I,Robot with Adrian, Andy, Daryl, Lionel and Tricia. Interesting show. Very good all in all.. Nothing to poke at or rather nothing has come to mind yet.. so I'll just give some variants of the 3 Laws for people or specific people around me.. haha..
For Lionel:
Law 1: Must drink coffee
Law 2: Must eat provided it does not conflict with Law 1.
Law 3: Must sleep provided it does not conflict with Laws 1 and 2.
For women:
Law 1: Buy things that look pretty
Law 2: Buy things that are practical provided does not conflict with Law 1
Law 3: Buy things that make good paper weights provided does not conflict with Laws 1 and 2.
For men:
Law 1: Buy things that are practical
Law 2: Buy things fast provided it does not conflict with Law 1
Law 3: Buy latest technology provided it does not conflict with Laws 1 and 2

Cafe Frankeltino..
Today marked the return of Cafe Frankeltino or as Harry put it, Cafe Frankeltino Redux. Was interesting.. going back to a phrase that has been at the back of my mind for a while now which is that "Everything that is old is new again." And this has been happening in other areas too.. I take it as a form of getting back to basics which is something I've been trying to do for this particular holidays. Set out certain goals and objectives at the start of this holiday and well have managed to do some of them .. and for others not so successful.
Audio Xchange was good. They're indeed a very talented bunch of people. God has blessed them richly and has used them to be a blessing to others. According to the figures 92 or was it 82 people came to the event. That's a very good figure. And 3 came to receive Christ.
After that played magic number game with a few people.. haha quite fun.. Met new people also. Like Mel's fren Trisha who is in theory my senior in Engine.. haha.. cool person.. spunky.. fun to spar verbally with..
After all the logistics (thanks to all the people who helped to arrange and keep back the stuff.. owe you guys a lot) went with Vincent to Bedok Camp kopi tiam to eat stingray and talk and catch up.. felt good.. as in. not good as in stuff got solved, but good as in its good to share the load with someone.. Thanks man.

Finally blogging again..
Not so much that I've gotten all the answers I'm seeking for or anything. Its not like coming to the end of a tunnel. Rather its still a process I'm going through. And I realise I won't be getting any answers any time soon..

Conversations
A boy asks an older man "Why is it when I pray God does not answer?"
The older man replies "The answer might be yes, no or even wait."
The boy then asks "Why then does He not answer with yes all the time then?"
The older man then replies "Sometimes we ask for something that we think we want but He knows what's good for us and when to give us what we need. Does He not feed you and clothe you and give you shelter each day? Look at what is given and know that God is good and He meets all your needs"

And now on a more serious note..
My thought processes are now in the midst of a major overhaul of sorts. Everything is re-organising itself in my head. Perspectives and idealogies are changing. Kinda a crazy time. Bear with me.

Now more serious lessons learnt from Spiderman 2..
Haha to be fair to the good movie, it did raise several good pts.
1)With great power comes great responsibility. Ok this was from part 1 and is basically the whole premise behind Peter Parker wearing the red and blue. But its true. The more we are entrusted with, the more is required of us. C.f parable of talents.
2)The idea of a choice. There's always a choice in life. Just that sometimes one choice seems more obvious than the other.
3)The idea of dreams and sometimes we must give up our dreams or rather our dreams must change. We all have dreams. Throughout our lives we've had dreams of what we want and stuff.. but sometimes, we must give up our dreams because a) not practical b) there's other things more important to do c) responsibility . Yeah sounds like a real cop-out that we have to give up what we want. But sometimes we have to trust that it works out for the best non?

Plot holes in Spiderman 2
Hey its a good show, don't get me wrong. Worth every cent. Just a few things that Lyndon and I observed.. haha..
1) How does a guy with 4 mechanical arms get into a bank? Fine he had a trenchcoat on, but those things can only retract so much.. Isn't the hump/bump on his back quite suspicious?
2) An insane scientist with 4 mechanical arms (short form from now will be 4MA) is running rampant and no one tries to track him down.
3) How a guy with normal strength can be pummeled by a guy with the proportionate strength of a spider (translation: quite strong) and not be bruised and still stand and stuff..
4) How he is able to bash thru walls? (I said his arms do it, but Lyndon says but still how the arms make a hole big enough for him to go through)..

Unexpected thing happened...
Excited. :D
Prov 3:5-7. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and shun evil."
See here soon for more details.
