Utter Bastards...
Singaporeans are just such.. ok maybe not all.. but a sizeable percentage of them are.. just encountered a group of them just now on the train.. was boarding the packed east bound train from City Hall then noticed there was a blind man in front of me so decided to stand behind him and let him board first.. but all the other morons around just pushed past him, and those coming out also same.. one just carried on talking on his phone like his was the only existence that mattered.. think people should take the time to get their heads out of their proverbial asses and think of other ppl.. in-bred !%!@%!@..

It's a cold and dark morning.
It may be 10 in the morning but its dark like 7 in the morning and feels like morning in.. hmm.. a more temperate country.. haha.. Australia.. yeah...

Man am I full..
Just came back from the super sumptous(sumpteous?) seafood dinner with the rest... actually its quite a big group (Andy, Mark Seow, Jasmine, Tai Vie, Jonathan Cheah, Xinyi, Issac, Nicky, Adrian, Michelle, Km, Sam, Bertram, Grace, Noel..) think that's about it.. haha.. dunno abt the other table, have to read michelle's blog to find out.. but our table was a massacre.. haha.. up till when the service picked up, each plate lasted around 3 minutes at our table.. haha.. nothing was spared, meat, fish, crabs, prawns, man tous.. etc..
Just weighed myself too.. 43kg.. yay!!.. 12 more to go.. darn.. which translates to eating this kind of meals for another 12 times.. think my body will fail before I succeed..

Draft timetable is up!!
The timetable for next semester sans lab and tutorial slots have been planned and it looks rather good.. 3 day week.. with 1 drawback.. thursday starts at 8am.. ends at 8pm.. but got like a few slots inside.. sigh.. need to try to fill it up with tutorials hopefully.. or labs.. or find ppl to bum with.. heh

How do women do it?
Just did a large part of my christmas shopping today.. (Yes.. u read correctly.. this post is not backdated or stuff).. just that I've been so busy that I haven't had time to shop.. sorry ppl whom I haven't given their gifts too.. wait wait.. I am now down to around 6 people left to buy for..

Rested..
Got my much needed rest.. slept for almost 15 hrs.. feels good.. caught up with the much needed sleep. :D Got my results too.. not bad.. quite good.. haha.. going to watch movie later.

Feeling my age..
Just back from family christmas eve function.. first time in a long while I've been with the extended family and friends/their friends.. felt weird at first cause didn't know most of them or didn't know what to talk to most of them... then conversation started to warm up a bit at dinner when there was talk abt countries and women griping abt being fat and stuff.. then later played x-box with them.. man.. reflexes & skill really go down hill with age.. was getting trounced by my pri 6 nephew and a pri 4 or 5 boy.. might be younger.. cannot play FPS already.. must demote to turn based games.. haha..

It is finished!!
Yay.. kudos to all.. we did it.. its finally completed.. we have finished the roof and the sign.. and it took 4 days.. haha.. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow or so and post it up.. its really nice..
This is the day in summary:
1)Arrived in church to find a big group of people staring and pointing at the manger/roof/bethlehem.. (which could be good could be bad.. ) then Aaron comes to the car and says "Don't stop the engine, need to get more leaves." ugh..
2) Drive Michelle and Jocelyn "sloppy heretic snob who is the president of PKK and the deranged queen aka slave driver" Tan to lucky heights to collect more dried leaves... then realised 2 mistakes.. forgot to bring a saw and cover the boot with newspaper.. the boot now has lots of dried leave bits and stuff.. think tell mum tomorrow.. dun stress her out now.. haha..
3) Really cool thing when collecting leaves at lucky heights was that there were 2 nice bundles nicely tied up and placed outside a house.. haha.. mini-christmas miracle..
4) Dropped the leaves off at church then made a drive down to east coast beach now with said preparation.. oddly enough the beach has less leaves, probably cause they are way more efficient with the cleaning.. then went to the coffee shop to eat indian food and talk abt Calvin and Hobbes..
5) Went back to church to begin work.. sawing and passing leaves to the brave ppl up high.. (got vertigo lah..)
6) Then make another trip to collect vines now.. was intending to go to the cemetary to collect vines that creep on the headstones but the cemetary was locked.. (Jocelyn even prepared a "ritual dance" so we can enter) hahaha.. in the end plucked vines from siglap sec (the old one).. pulled a lot of vines.. quite cool.. also easier to pluck than the leaves
7) After that had to go hardware shop to buy rope and try to "borrow" wooden planks for the sign that says "Bethlehem"
8) Came back and everything was in full swing.. vines and all that.. and the sign was being made also..
Andy went to get drill from Kin Soon's house then we drilled the holes for the sign.. after which, returned drill, went to bedok to buy comskot(sic?), went to Jon Cho's house to freeload some food, came back and finished the sign with the crack team of Andy, Daryl, June and Mark Chai. (At this point in time, the freeloader was nowhere in sight.. hahaha.. nm lah.. see her so stress, think better let her enjoy a bit.. or else hair all turn white on christmas day)
9) After a 30-45 min debate on how to bring the sign up.. it was decided upon for a pulley system.. haha.. one of the 3 simple machines.. (4 if u read Calvin & Hobbes)
And it worked.. voila.. applied physics..
10) Clean up then we look at the work.. ah.. so nice.. pity no camera..
11) Send everyone home..
12) Come home and am typing this now.. yes .. this .. the word "this"
hahahaah..

Nothing works out as planned..
Many things don't work out the way we plan them to go... like the roof we were building this week.. the plan was good in conception, but when we were building it, we realised several flaws and last night after loading the leaves on the roof, the main poles cracked cause the force was directed the wrong direction.. this morning though after consideration, it was decided that we would get the contractor who was setting up the tentage to setup a metal frame.. however the metal frame was much bigger and higher than our original idea.. bigger is bad cause we don't have enough dried palm leaves, higher is also bad cause imagine having to stand on a 3 metre tall ladder.. I didn't use the ladder cause of my vertigo.. haha.. scared of heights lah.. but thankfully the rest all quite brave.. (Jon Cho, Nicky and the 2 Tims)... haha..but cause so high, a bit hard to arrange the leaves lah.. so we just made sure that most of the roof was covered.. and in the end Aunty Evelyn paid for the roof out of her own pocket..
I'm still tempted to try to make the original plan.. haha.. any volunteers?

Riddle me this..
How to build a roof out of bamboo to have leaves on top to form the covering? Bamboo itself is not strong enough.. how to increase the strength of the bamboo?

There's this really cool song from Samurai X you all should listen to.. its the song that makes the violin cool.. and not like the normal orchestra songs which go like "dong dong ching ding weh weh.. " ok it sounds better if I did the actual sounds.. haha

Lots of stuff to blog abt today..
So will break it up into bite size chunks.. haha.. easier to read and easier to type:
1) Was woken up at like 8am or so because a bird sought shelter in my balcony from the rain and it started to make a lot of noise.. Must invest in shooting device..

2)Sunday School service was super today.. walked in and realised that their effort really paid off..

3) Had lunch with Daryl, Kin Soon and his class to discuss the carnival.. we came up with like a lot of games.. but according to Elaine most likely cannot use cause cannot submit any more stations.. wasted.. haha.. some of them are really cool.. like the water bazooka shooting game which has 2 ppl.. 1 to pump and the other to shoot and there is even a recoil..

4) Played cards with Michelle and Daryl and talked abt Dune (well before Daryl came).. been a long time since I watched the original Dune movie.. ah.. blue eyes and giant worms..

5)Ended up playing for the carollers when I was supposed to just teach them the part for 1 song.. oh well..

6) Had super super bad gastric.. that's 2 weeks in a row.. can't be good for me.. ate macs then ate some ant-acid...found out that antacid comes in super expensive form.. like liquid mylanta going for almost 20 dollars.. that's madness.. haha..

7)Then Mark (Seow) was telling us how drinking coke is good for gastric because its ALKALINE.. and he got an A for A level Chem.. yes.. then other scientific discoveries 1) Lemon is alkaline 2) Orange is Acidic 3) Lime is alkaline because Lime water is alkaline.. 4) Banana is a meat.. because its like beef..

8) After that went to Fish and Co to celebrate Noel's birthday.. was quite scary.. haha.. cause it was such a big group then Mark (Seow again) was making lots of disturbing remarks abt his cousins..

9) Then I introduced a new game which I took from the tv show Ed.. haha which is to dare ppl to do something for money.. so I dared Marnchi to ask the waitress for her number for $10.. which Andy then added $5 to it.. then Mark (Seow... again) decided to sweeten the pot by offering $2 as a complimentary gift even if she doesn't give him the number.. then James and Noel decided to contribute $3 to the pot.. finally Mark (yes.. seow again) threw in $5 making the pot $23 and Matthias threw in $2 for the complimentary gift.. but in the end Marnchi didn't do it.. haha..

Moral of the story: I saved $10.. :D

What is a snow frog?
I know its so not a frog that lives in a snow because why would frog meat be in dessert? So if we know there's no such things as frogs in the snow, why call this snow frog?

and that is piss off!! crap.. just found out my results will be released on christmas eve at 7pm.. what the ........ that's like the ultimate kill-joy..

Dirty rotten stinking kelong cheaters...
are Samuel and I.. haha.. today during one hand of bridge was super funny.. cause samuel opened with a bid of 3 clubs (of which I have only 1 club) so I called 3 spades (cause I have 6 spades and king and queen) .. then I told sam I would call clubs as partner.. then he called no trump but cancelled that cause he scared call ace then get wrong partner then he said "I have no aces at all...(in reference to his low points)" then he cancelled the bid so I got it.. then remembering that he has no ace.. I called King of clubs as partner.. which was a super bad move.. plus it was cheating.. haha super funny.. we lost quite badly..

Think my left pinky is sprained..
cause a basketball connected perpendicular-ly to my pinky causing this sharp spike of pain.. and now its slightly swollen.. and this ladies and gentlemen is why I don't play sports anymore.. that and I'm lazy.. haha..sorry if this post seems odd.. cause my right brain is functioning whereas my left is sleeping..

3 days in a row
Been waking up from sequences of strange dreams for the past 3 nights.. which is why I seem to be waking up early and sleeping even earlier.. scary dreams..

On a more lighthearted note, the biggest tilapia that Lyndon gave me got eaten by the Gar today.. didn't realise until I saw the huge bulge in the belly of the fish... which means the rest will soon be fish food..

Today is the day...
where singaporeans turn into complete and utter imbeciles.. haha.. its the finals for singapore idol.. where people will go and shout out who they support and stuff and curse the rest.. ( yes that's singapore for you)
Anyway came home and sister said she voted for Taufik cause "how can an ah beng represent singapore?" to which I was thinking.. maybe an Ah Beng would be the best representation of Singapore.. haha..

Bride and Prejudice
My review for this show is not bad.. despite what some people might say.. only found the dancing and singing quite annoying.. which is why I don't really like musicals.. why is it that ppl feel that how they feel can be better conveyed by singing and dancing?
Anyway I think its supposed to be based on the book Pride and Prejudice by.. Jane Austen? dunno lah.. nice plot with quite a few unexpected twists (well I found them so) like the fact that the main character was really really blunt and dumb.. plot twists here and there.. haha.. kinda like dancing round the tree.. (p.s if u didn't know yet, its a bollywood/hollywood film)
And its not a sappy chick flick.. cause there was this cool fight scene thrown in near the end.. haha..
